Connect to the H and I Drives

To access your PSU H or I drives on a Mac, use the following directions.  If you are not connected to the Portland State network, before you do anything, you must connect to PSU’s Virtual Private Network (VPN).

Check your H Drive Usage

Once you've mapped your H drive to your computer, you can use the following steps to check your available free space.

Directory Addresses

H Drive

Your H drive is for personal file storage. In the file paths below, replace "u" with the first letter of your Odin username, and replace "user" with your Odin username.

  • Faculty and Staff Home Directories: smb://emphome.psu.ds.pdx.edu/u/user/

  • Student Home Directories: smb://stuhome.psu.ds.pdx.edu/u/user/

I Drive

The I drive contains departmental directories and other shared network resources. 

  • Departmental Shared Directories: smb://departments.psu.ds.pdx.edu/

  • Projects Share: smb://projects.psu.ds.pdx.edu/

  • Student Org Share: smb://studentorgs.psu.ds.pdx.edu/

  • Instructor Share Directories: smb://instructors.psu.ds.pdx.edu/

  • Research Share Directories: smb://share.research.pdx.edu/

Note: The parent directory for I drive shares is smb://psu.ds.pdx.edu/resources/.
