Supported Products and Technologies

PSU Registered Wi-Fi network supports Apple Airplay, Alexa, Chromecast, and any other technology that uses Multicast DNS (mDNS) for Wi-Fi device discovery and interconnectivity. This allows devices on the PSU Registered Wi-Finetwork that are registered to the same user to talk to each other.

Wi-Fi Casting does not support:

  • Casting between devices registered to different users.

  • Casting between wireless and wired devices.

  • Casting between clients devices on other WiFi networks (Wi-Fi networks such as PSU Secure, eduroam, and PSU Guest)

Getting Started with Device Connections

To allow for devices to communicate with each other, they must be registered in the WiFi Device Registration section of oam.pdx.edu.
