Once Tableau Reader is installed on your device, you will be able to view Tableau files with the .twb and .twbx extension that have been shared with you by Tableau Creators.

Follow these steps to install and activate Tableau Reader on your device.

Install Tableau Reader on your device

  1. Install the software.
    1. If you have a  PSU-managed device, you have the option to install Tableau Reader through Self-Service Software - free software for PSU-owned computers.
    2. If you have a personal device, you can download the software directly from the Tableau site.
  2. Accept the license agreement.
  3. Decide whether to select Don’t send product usage data.
  4. Follow the usual steps for software installation on your system.

Register the software

On the Registration screen, complete the required fields, then select Register

Note: Be sure to use your PSU email address to register with Tableau. 

View shared Tableau files

Open Tableau Reader then browse to the .twb(x) file to view the dashboard or report.
