The Office of Information Technology (OIT) recommends and fully supports standard multifunction copier models. Maintaining these standards allows us to service multifunction copiers efficiently, and ensures full compatibility with PSU systems. We strongly recommend leasing one of the models included in the OIT support standards.

When you're ready to proceed with a new lease, send an email to cmpacct@pdx.edu. They will assist you with the next steps to ensure that your machine is properly set up on Centralized Billing.
Choosing the best multifunction copier for your department
All of our standard models copy, scan, and print. Optional features may be added to provide additional functionality, such as hole punch, stapling, collating and additional paper tray capacity.
When choosing a model, consider:
Your department’s maximum monthly volume of use.
Print and copy volume may be estimated by examining the page counts from the copy machines and/or printers you will be replacing with a multifunction copier.
Determine your average monthly volume and choose a Duty Cycle (max pages per month) that meets or exceeds this value.
The desired printing speed (pages per minute).
If you require faster printing, choose a model with a higher pages per minute specification.
Other OIT-supported multifunction copiers
While we strongly recommend you lease one of the multifunction copier models listed in PSU Standard Multifunction Copiers, you may lease other multifunction copiers.
Keep in mind that other multifunction copiers must adhere to the following standards to be supported by OIT and assigned a printer queue on the PSU network:
Has drivers for Printer Command Language (PCL) 6 or drivers for Postscript (PS) that are compatible with Windows 10.
Note: PS is preferred. However, if you require PCL drivers, OIT will support this, as long as the drivers are model-specific and are compatible with Windows 10.Has its own processor (listed in the technical specifications).
Uses a wired network connection (wireless and USB connections are unsupported).
Does not require software to be installed on the print server (excepting printer drivers).
