Naming rooms and calendar resources based on a naming convention facilitates resources being grouped in a logical way, making them easier to find when seeking to add a room or resource to an event. The Office of Information Technology (OIT) recommends that you use CamelCase in the descriptive identifier (refer to Examples below).

For Locations (Rooms and Spaces)

To request a location calendar, or to make changes to an existing location calendar, complete the Location Calendar support form.

Naming Convention:

  • Building-Room [DEPT] [Descriptive Identifier] [(Capacity)]

Examples:

  • FAB-87-01 OIT (10)

  • SMSU-18n USS (15)

  • MCB-518 FADM Iron (7)

For Resources

Resources include non-room items and shared calendars for teams or groups. To request a new resource calendar, or to make changes to an existing resource calendar, complete the Resource Calendar support form.

  • (Equipment)-ITS HiDefCameraTripod
