If you choose to purchase a model of computer that is not listed in OIT's Computer Hardware Standards, requests for assistance with your non-standard computer will be subject to a $150 fee for each support incident that requires your computer is checked into the Helpdesk. This fee helps to offset the increased labor and time costs that OIT incurs when supporting non-standard computers at PSU. The fee covers common support requests like:

  • Operating system installation or reinstallation.

  • Diagnosis of hardware failure; hardware replacement if your computer is still under warranty.

  • Other issues that require your computer to be checked into the Helpdesk for extensive troubleshooting.

If we are unable to resolve your issue, the fee will be refunded.
