Prerequisites- Ensure that your computer is connected to the PSU network (via Wi-Fi or a network cable).
- Either the name of the queue you wish to add, or information you can use to identify it. Print queues typically follow the naming convention "College-Department-Building-Room."
Finding Find and installing install a print queueTo find and install a print queue, follow these steps:the steps for your operating system below. Windows- Select the Start button.
- Select Settings.
- Select Devices.
- Select Printers & scanners.
- Select Add a printer or scanner.
- Select The printer that I want isn't listed.
- Select Find a printer in the directory, based on location or feature, then select Next.
- In the Find Printers window, choose one of the following ways to locate the print queue you wish to add:
- In the Location field, enter your building and room number (for example, type SMSU 209 to show the print queues in that room) then select Find Now, or
- In the Name field, search for part of the queue’s name, then select Find Now. For best results, surround your query with asterisks (for example, type *oit* to find all print queues with “oit” in their names).
- Double-click the printer you want to add.
- If a dialog window appears that asks "Do you trust this printer?", select Install Driver.
macOS- Select the Apple icon in the upper-left corner of the screen.
- Select System Preferences.
- Select Printers & Scanners.
- Select the + symbol at the bottom of the printer list.
- Search for the print queue's name in the search field. The queue will have OITPS1 at the front of its name.
- Select the print queue you would like to add from the list.
- In the Use field, select Choose a Driver.
- Select Select Software from the list.
- Search for the printer or copier model in the Printer Software menu.
- Select the correct driver for your printer, then select Add to add the queue to your computer.
Further resourcesIf the printer does not work after being installed, try restarting your computer. If that fails and other people are also unable to print to the printer, make sure the printer's network cable is firmly connected. You can also try restarting the printer. If you are printing to a copier that utilizes user codes, you will need to add your user code before you can print successfully.
