Service Odin accounts are non-individual accounts created for uses such as departmental email. Service Odin accounts only have access to Portland State University Gmail. They do not have access to Google Drive, Groups, or other standard PSU Google Apps.
Creating a Service Odin Account
To request a Service Odin account, use the "Create a new service account" option on the Service Account Request Form. All Service Odin accounts require a primary and secondary owner.
OIT does not provide the password for service accounts; you must be added as a delegate to have access. The owner of the service account will be added as a delegate automatically. You also have the option of adding other delegates to the account.
Select Manage Service Accounts. You will be presented with a list of service accounts that you own.
Select the service account that you wish to manage. The list of current delegates for the account will be listed between the Add Delegates and Add Notify Email tabs.
Select the "X" next to the desired user to remove that user as a delegate.
Additional Service Account Management Options
Logging in to oam.pdx.edu and selecting Manage Service Accounts will also allow you to perform the following actions for each service account that you own:
Transfer primary ownership of the service account: the primary owner can add delegates, modify other owners, and update the notification email.
Add a secondary owner to the service account: the secondary account owner can perform all of the tasks of the primary owner.
Add a description for the service account.
Add a notification email to the service account: add a person or email address to be notified when account maintenance actions are required, such as the departure of the account owner.
Accessing a Service Odin Account
Once a user has been successfully added as a delegate, they will be able to access the Service Odin account when logged in to their PSU Gmail account.
