With Google Meet, you can set up and join video or audio meetings from a computer, phone, mobile device, or conference room. You can add and remove guests to in-progress meetings, send chat messages, and present your screen.

Google Meet Features

Meet is a free application provided through Google Workspace for Education. With Meet, you can set up and join video or audio meetings with up to 100 participants from a computer, phone, mobile device, or conference room. You can add and remove guests to in-progress meetings, send chat messages, and present your screen.

Using Google Meet

To start using Meet, you must meet certain requirements on your computer or device. If you're having trouble using Meet on your computer, you can call in from your phone or install the mobile app on your smartphone or tablet.

There are many ways to start or join meetings. We've listed the two most common options below, or you can refer to the following Google articles to see all of your options:

Schedule a Meeting in Google Calendar

You can schedule a meeting by creating an event in Google Calendar. Meeting information is automatically added to any event with more than one invitee, and shown in the meeting details view.

Start an Impromptu Meeting in a Web Browser

  1. In a web browser, navigate to meet.google.com.

  2. Select Join or start a meeting.

  3. Enter a name for the meeting, then select Continue.

  4. Select Join now.

  5. To add someone to a meeting, choose an option:

    1. Select Copy joining info and share the meeting details with your participants by email.

    2. Select Add people and invite your participants by email or call.

Conference Room Hardware

Google Meet hardware components bring the video meeting experience to the conference room. Features include:

  • Ease of use.

  • Integration with Google conference room resource calendars.

  • Video and audio conferencing capabilities.

  • Dial-in or out from the console.

  • Wireless and wired screen sharing.
