Map the H and I Drives

The H and I Drives are automatically mapped on PSU-owned Windows computers.

If you are using a PSU-owned computer, VLAB, or the Employee Virtual Desktop and your H Drive or the I Drive is not there, use the Drive Map tools in Self-Service Software to automatically re-map the missing drive(s).

Follow these steps to manually map your H Drive or the I Drive on a personal computer.

  1. If you are not on campus, connect to PSU’s Virtual Private Network (VPN).

  2. Map a network drive in Windows.

    1. In the Folder box, enter the address of the drive you want to map.

    2. Select Connect using different credentials.

  3. Enter your Odin username and password when prompted.

    • Use the format PSU\YourOdinUsername in the User name box.

The next time you sign in to your computer, you may get a message that Windows was unable to map one or more network drives. Connect to PSU’s Virtual Private Network (VPN) to solve this problem.

Troubleshooting

Windows cannot access ... Check the spelling of the name. Otherwise, there might be a problem with your network.

Windows cannot access ... You do not have permission to access ... Contact your network administrator to request access.

You might not have access to the resource you’re trying to map. If you’re sure you should have access, check the following:

  • Verify you are entering your Odin username and password correctly and that you are using the format PSU\YourOdinUsername for your Odin username.

  • Check for typos in the drive address you entered in the Folder box when mapping the drive.
