DataMASTER reports draw information from a central Operational Data Store (ODS). The ODS warehouse is a large data repository accumulated from sources internal and external to Portland State University.

Internal Data Sources

Banner

Banner is the core campus student records system, hosted and maintained by Office of Information Technology. The Banner database includes Admissions, Registration, Transcript, Accounts Receivable, Financial Aid, Human Resources, and Finance information.

Request Tracker

Request Tracker is an open source issue tracking system maintained by the Office of Information Technology. It is used by various University departments use for ticketing tasks, customer service, and workflow operations.

External Data Sources

OrgSync

OrgSync is a cloud-based, vendor-hosted system that provides students and administrators with tools to manage campus clubs.

SCARF

The Student Centralized Administrative Reporting File (SCARF) is a snapshot of Banner data, taken at the 4th week and end of each term, shaped by a script run on the Banner server. The script applies specific rules for consistent comparison across units within PSU, as well as external government agencies and universities. The data is managed by OIRP and stored in the DataMASTER ODS warehouse.

Talisma

Talisma is a vendor provided Customer Experience Management system. Talisma is used to contact both prospective and existing students. DataMASTER contains data regarding Talisma email campaigns, interactions with existing and prospective students, and Talisma recruitment data.

University Tickets

University Tickets is a cloud-based, vendor-hosted system that university organizations use to sell tickets and collect payments online.
