Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software is used by organizations to keep track of interactions with their constituents. PSU uses CampusNexus (formerly Talisma) as its enterprise-level CRM software primarily for prospective and current students, and in some cases for parents and community members.

Features of CampusNexus CRM

Automated email communications

With CampusNexus CRM, you can manage mass-mailing campaigns to prospective and current students. These mass mailings can range from a data-driven sequence of follow-up emails to stay in touch with prospective students after they submit an inquiry form, to regularly-scheduled mailings such as the Virtual Viking weekly newsletter, and more.

Interaction management

CampusNexus CRM enables you to automatically or manually manage and track interactions. The system can automatically monitor, assign, and track incoming email messages and conversation threads, weaving together associated communications that occur by email, phone, fax, chat, or in-person with metadata about the interaction. You can use data from these interactions for proactive outreach via email campaigns and to build reports (analytics) that help departments measure their performance and identify additional needs.

Chat management

CampusNexus CRM chat functionality allows for multiple staff members to be available to chat online with visitors. Every completed chat conversation becomes a saved interaction within the system, and can be searched for, replied to, and used by the built-in analytics reporting features mentioned above.

Specialized services

The CRM team provides integration with many applications, including:

  • Coordinated Service Network
  • Advising Portal
  • Campus Visits
  • Orientation Management
  • YouCanBookMe appointments

Choosing CampusNexus CRM

Departments interested in CampusNexus as a CRM solution should consider the following when deciding if it meets their needs:

Who are your constituents?

Currently, CampusNexus CRM works best for managing campaigns related to current and prospective students. If your constituents include donors, alumni, faculty, staff, vendors, or any other group related to the University, CampusNexus CRM will be difficult to adapt to your needs.

Do you need data integrated from Banner?

CampusNexus CRM is updated nightly with data from Banner and draws in many of the most commonly used fields. This information can be viewed, used to search, or used in email campaigns.
