Advanced Email Settings
This page contains advanced settings for Gmail at PSU, that you can use to set up an external email client.
Note: For the best experience, we recommend using Gmail’s web browser interface at mail.pdx.edu rather than using an external email client.
On this page
Enable IMAP in Gmail
Go to mail.pdx.edu.
Select Settings.
Select the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
Select Enable IMAP.
Select Save Changes.
Email Settings
Incoming mail server
Protocol: IMAP
Server: imap.gmail.com
Username: YourOdinUsername@pdx.edu (include @pdx.edu)
Port: 993
Connection Type: SSL/TLS
Outgoing mail server
Protocol: SMTP
Server: smtp.gmail.com
Port: 465 or 587
Connection Security: SSL
Username: YourOdinUsername@pdx.edu
Authentication Required? Yes
