Zoom Rooms for Conference Rooms Guide

 

Zoom Conference Room

This guide is intended to provide information specific to Zoom Rooms in conference rooms. For more detailed instructions on using Zoom Rooms, please refer to the Zoom Room Guide on the AV Technology Resources page. 


Hardware in the Conference Room

  • 1-2 LED display(s)

  • Logitech Zoom Touchscreen (TAP)

  • Logitech camera, speaker(s) and microphone(s) system

    • The microphones in Zoom conference rooms are designed to capture audio from all participants in the room. A single camera, mounted below the display, will automatically frame and focus on all participants in the room. Remote participants audio will play through the speakers integrated into the camera bar.

  • HDMI input

  • Logitech Scribe whiteboard digitizer (optional)

Share Content

Content can be shared to in room participants while no Zoom meeting is taking place or to both remote and in room participants while a Zoom meeting is in progress. Reference the Zoom Room Guide for more information on ways to start a meeting in a Zoom Room.

Share Content Wirelessly

  1. Ensure you have the Zoom app installed on the device you wish to share from

  2. Launch Zoom and login using SSO

  3. Select Share Screen from the Zoom desktop or mobile application. The Zoom Room system should automatically detect your device.

    1. If detection does not work, entering the sharing key provided in the top right hand corner of the Zoom display. If already in a meeting, select Share Screen from the button bar at the bottom of the screen.

Zoom Rooms have a proximity sensor that detects when a device in the room is using the Zoom room app. Click this button to automatically find and pair your device to the Zoom Room. If your device is not detected, a pop up dialogue box will prompt you to enter a Sharing Key, provided in the upper right hand corner of the Zoom Room display. 

Share content via HDMI cable (wired connection)

  1. To share content without using the Zoom app, plug in your device via an HDMI cable to the HDMI receptacle adjacent to the TAP.

    1. Note: you may need to adjust your display resolution to best accommodate your laptop and the display

  2. On the TAP, select Share Content

  3. The TAP will begin sharing content from your device. The TAP will note that content is “Currently sharing locally” if your device is properly connected to the HDMI input.
