Sennheiser SL Lavalier Microphone Instructions

Before use, charge the microphone transmitter using the provided micro-USB cable and charging block. The battery offers up to approximately 15 hours of operation on a full charge.

  1. If using a microphone with an installed receiver, skip to step 5.

  2. Open the front and back of the receiver case. Connect the power adapter to the receiver and into the outlet on the front of the podium.

  3. Insert the receptacle end (side with holes) of the XLR into the receiver’s output. Connect the pin end (side with metal pins) of the cable into the podium’s input. Ensure the pins align correctly and that both ends click securely into place.

  4. Adjust the antennae to 45° away from each other. The transmitter and antennae should maintain a line of sight whenever possible.

  5. Press the Power button briefly to turn on the receiver if needed. The LED screen will illuminate.

  6. Press the ON/OFF button briefly on the bodypack transmitter to turn it on. The LED screen on the transmitter will illuminate.

  7. Press Pair briefly on the receiver to check sync with the transmitter. 

    1. The light on the top of the synced device will flash green if the transmitter and receiver are paired.

    2. Note: Once paired, the transmitter and receiver will remain synced unless a new device is paired with the receiver.

  8. If not already paired, press and hold the Pair button on the receiver to sync the transmitter

    1. The LED screen will display Pairing with new device… and the sync light will alternate flashing red and green

    1. Press and hold Pair on the transmitter (microphone body pack)

    2. When sync has been established, Paired will appear on both the transmitter and receiver screens

  9. If necessary, unmute the microphone with the Mute switch on the transmitter

  10. Clip the microphone onto your shirt or lapel as close to your mouth as possible, avoiding contact with clothing or other surfaces. The microphone picks up sound from all directions. 

  11. Adjust the microphone level using the volume knob on the rack-mounted switcher in the podium or from the Extron control panel in an Inclusive Access Classroom.

  12. When finished, press and hold the ON/OFF button to switch the bodypack transmitter off

  13. If using a mobile kit, press and hold the ‘Standby’ button to turn the receiver off and pack it up.
