PSU Cybersecurity Awareness Training for Employees

Portland State University (PSU) is pleased to offer online cybersecurity awareness training to employees. We have partnered with KnowBe4, an industry leader in the cybersecurity awareness training space.

Staff will, on occasion, receive email communications from the KnowBe4 platform on behalf of PSU and the Office of Information Technology (OIT). An email may arrive upon new-hire onboarding, when new training campaigns are made available, and as courtesy reminders.

Why Are We Offering This Training

With the ever-growing integration of technology into our daily lives, scammers have increasingly moved their fraudulent activities online. Consequently, it is more important than ever to be aware and informed of their tactics and techniques which can compromise both our personal online security and that of the PSU community. By completing the provided training you’ll be better equipped with the skills you need to defend our organization and yourself against email phishing and other attacks.

How To Access KnowBe4

Training-related email notifications from KnowBe4 will contain a link to the relevant campaign.

If at any time you aren’t automatically directed to your assigned training campaign, select “training” at the top of the screen.

Complete Training

While we recommend completing training in one session, it is possible to save your progress and return to the training at a later time. To do this:

  • Close the training window and log out of KnowBe4.

  • When you return at a later time, your session will begin where you left off in the training.

Your progress may be lost if you log off without closing the training window.

Training Status Reports for Supervisors

Supervisors can view the completion status for their direct reports in the Cognos report Cybersecurity Awareness Training - H0031, which is available in the My PSU Reports folder. One must be in a PSU computer network or on the VPN in order to log in and view the report.
