Purchase a departmental printer
The Office of Information Technology (OIT) recommends that faculty and staff purchase departmental printers from the ePSU Marketplace, PSU's online purchasing portal. The ePSU Marketplace offers models that conform to OIT support standards. Follow the directions provided on the site to determine your eligibility and sign up for access.

View recommended printer models
All of the printer configurations on the ePSU Marketplace have been tested by OIT. To view a list of recommended printers:
Sign in to the ePSU Marketplace.
Select the vendor CDW.
A window will appear with the recommended printer options. From this window, you'll be able to select a model that best fits your department's needs. Both black & white and color printers are available, as well as printers designed to handle different volumes of users.
Other printer models
While OIT strongly recommends you purchase one of the printer models available on the ePSU Marketplace, you may purchase other printers. Keep in mind that they must adhere to the following standards to be supported by OIT and assigned a printer queue on the PSU network. The printer must:
Have drivers for Printer Command Language (PCL) 6 or drivers for Postscript (PS) that are compatible with Windows 7.
Note: PCL is preferred. However, if you require PS drivers, OIT will support this, as long as the drivers are model-specific and are compatible with Windows 7.Have its own processor (listed in the technical specifications).
Strongly recommended that the printer has a driver that is package-aware. All standard models on the ePSU Marketplace have package-aware drivers.
Not require a connection to the server via USB cable or wireless.
Not require software to be installed on the print server (excepting printer drivers).
