Wi-Fi Calling on Campus

You can use PSU’s extensive Wi-Fi infrastructure to make calls and send messages from your cell phone without relying on a carrier signal through a service called Wi-Fi Calling.

All four major US carriers provide Wi-Fi Calling with most phone models. To check if your carrier supports your cell phone model, or if any fees apply, visit your carrier’s website:

When you enable Wi-Fi Calling, we recommend that you connect to the PSU Secure network so you will be automatically re-connected whenever you enter campus. To enable Wi-Fi Calling on Android and iOS phones, follow the steps below.

Enable Wi-Fi Calling on Android

To enable Wi-Fi Calling on your phone, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Phone app.

  2. Select More > Settings.

  3. Select Calls.

  4. Select Wi-Fi calling. If this option is unavailable, it’s because your carrier doesn’t support this feature.

Refer to Google’s Android Wi-Fi Calling setup for further information.

Enable Wi-Fi Calling on iOS

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Go to Phone > Wi-Fi Calling.

  3. Enable Wi-Fi Calling.

Refer to Apple’s iOS Wi-Fi Calling setup for further information.

Request Wi-Fi Coverage

PSU faculty and staff can request Wi-Fi coverage within classrooms or offices where Wi-Fi is not set up or is too weak to support Wi-Fi Calling. To request Wi-Fi coverage, contact your Telecom coordinator
