Getting Started with Avaya Voicemail
PSU uses a voicemail system called CallXpress. Use this guide as a reference for setting up your CallXPress voicemail.

Accessing Voicemail
From Your Telephone on Campus
Dial 5-7000
Enter your password, the default password is 1111.
CallXpress will then take you through a quick tutorial where you will set your voicemail password, record your name and record a standard greeting.
From Another Campus Telephone
Dial 5-7000.
Press * to get to the CallXpress main menu then press # and enter your digit extension.
Enter your password, the default password is 1111.

From off Campus
Dial 503-725-7000.
Press # and enter your 5-digit extension.
Enter your password, the default password is 1111.

Setting up Voicemail
Change Your Security Code
When your account is first created, it is assigned a default security code of 1111. To prevent other people from gaining access to your account, be sure to change your security code as soon as possible.
Log on.
At the main menu, press 3 for PhoneManager.
For Personal Options, press 1.
To change your security code, press 4.
When prompted, press the digits in sequence, followed by the # key.
To confirm your new security code, enter it again, followed by the # key.
Record Your Name
To continue the setup of your mailbox, you need to record your name.
At the main menu, press 3 for PhoneManager.
For Personal Options, press 1.
To record your name, press 5.
To begin recording, press 2 and say your name (first and last).
To stop recording, press 2.
You can also do the following, after recording:
Review your name: Press 6
Delete your name and start over: 4
Cancel and exit without saving or recording: *
To save the recording, press 5.
Record Your Standard Greeting
Your standard greeting is the message callers hear when they are directed to leave you a voice message. You may want to write your greeting down on paper before recording it. The following is an example of a typical personal greeting:
“You've reached the voice mailbox for [Your Name]. I am not available to take your call. Please leave your name, number, and a message after the tone. I will return your call as soon as possible.”
To record your standard greeting:
At the main menu, press 3 for PhoneManager.
For Personal Options, press 1.
To record a personal greeting, press 3.
To record your standard greeting, press 2.
To begin recording, press 2. Then, press 2 again to stop recording.
You can also do the following:
Review your name: Press 6
Delete your name and start over: 4
Cancel and exit without saving or recording: *
To save the recording, press 5.
Send All Calls to Voicemail
This feature allows you to send your calls directly to voicemail. The phone will only emit a half-ring when a call comes in. Lift your handset and press *8 to activate. Press #88 to deactivate this feature.
