Restore a File From Your H or I Drive

If you have modified or accidentally deleted a file or folder from your H or I drive, it may be possible to restore it using Previous Versions in the Windows operating system. Previous Versions is a short-term backup of the files and directories stored on your H and I drives.

To Use Previous Versions in Windows OS

  1. Access the Properties the folder or network drive that contained the file you want to restore.
For example, if the file you need to restore was located in your H drive, right-click on the folder or use Alt + Enter with the folder selected.

  2. From the menu, select Restore previous versions.

  3. In the list of previous versions, choose the date and time you want to restore.

  4. Select the appropriate button:

    • Open: View the version of the file you’ve selected.

    • Copy: Make a copy of the file or folder that you want to restore to a specific location on your computer.

    • Restore: Overwrite the current version with the previous version.
